Austin trip

This past weekend Jeremy, Kailey, and I drove to Austin to see my family. Lisa is still living in Austin until Nov, then they will move back to Dallas, but until then it is an added bonus to see them. Aaron bought a house in Austin near my parents and Matt is out of school for the summer. So needless to say it is always a full house when we come to visit.

We left for Austin on Friday around 2 or so. Kailey was a perfect angel the entire trip. She slept almost the whole ride there. My parents where so excited to see Kailey. That night we all went out to dinner at Iguana, a Mexican restaurant on the lake. The view there is absolutely beautiful. It was so great to see everyone. Saturday morning Jeremy and I went to the lake with Aaron, Matt, and Dinell, Matt's girlfriend, while my parents watched Kailey. We had so much fun! Jeremy drove the boat and did an awesome job, while I sat back and enjoyed a few beers. :) We found a cove and parked the boat. We all swam in the lake for a few hours. As you can see from the pictures we had so much fun!

Later that day, my mom's friend Lindsay came over to my parents house and took some pictures of Kailey, Jeremy, and I. She is a wonderful photographer. Here is a sneak peek of the pictures.

For those of you who do not know Caden, my nephew he is completely girl crazy. The entire time that we where in Austin he always wanted to play with Kailey. At one point he even started to call her his sister. It was so cute!

Like is always does, time flew by and Sunday came and it was time for us to go home. I really wished that my parents lived closer to us. Kailey is growing up so fast and I really wished my parents could see her more often.

One the way home we stoped off at Whataburger to use the restroom and feed Kailey. While there this man came up to us and asked how old Kailey was. I told him 5 months and his eyes got really big. he then said, "Wow, she is so big. Does she just eat all day?" I have no idea why some people just don't keep some of there comments to themselves. This is not the first time that someone has called my little sweet baby fat. She is not fat, she is healthy. :)

This weekend was so much fun and I treasure every moment with my family. Next weekend we are flying to Vermont for the Thompson family reunion. I can't wait to see Grandma (Jeremy's grandma) again.

Time is flying

I can't believe that Kailey is already four months old! It seems like just yesterday I was telling my parents that I was pregnant. Labor came on on Feb 20, 2010. Jeremy and I went to the hospital and we were sent home because I was not dilating. That night the labor pains became so intense that we had to go back. Finally, my nurse came in and told me that I was staying. a few short hours later, Kailey Ann Thompson was born Feb 21, 2010 at 1240. She weighed 7.9 oz and was 20 inches long. She had a little trouble breathing so we was sent to the NICU for a few days. Those three days where my own personnel hell. Seeing your newborn baby hooked up to oxygen and IVs is so hard. I know that I am a nurse, but it is so different when it is your child.

Kailey is now home and doing just fantastic. The first few months where hard, but I am finally starting to get used to motherhood and I love it. kailey can now roll over, smile, laugh, and of course cry. haha She sat up for a few secs but we are still working on that. I love being a mother and I wish time would stop flying by so fast.

baby news

Well we finally went for our first ultrasound! It is so cool to see a little heart beating inside of you. The morning sickness has totally taken over my life. I feel so sick in the mornings and at night. The only relief that I get is during the middle of the day. My throw up counter is now up to 8 :( Pretty good considering everything that I have to deal with on an everyday basis at work.

Yesterday was an especially gross day at work. I had this patient that could not poop for 1 week! So I was the lucky person to get him. I gave this man enough lactalose to clear 5 grown men. About 30 min later nothing! So, being the person that I am I went in to see why nothing was happening( Yeah they don't pay nurses enough). I retrieved a small rock like pebble and then it was like Niagara falls! Normally this would not upset me but being in the fragile state that I am in I threw up, not in the patient's room or anything, but just outside. ha ha

Jeremy enjoys all the fun stories that I have everyday. I think now that I am pregnant, I feel the need to share them all with him now. I have gain like 2 pounds already. To anyone else this feels like nothing, but being 4 11 with an already huge back end, I feel like a cow! Even though that I feel so bad, I feel so blessed to have my little heart beating inside of me. Jeremy and I will sit on the couch at night and he will talk to my stomach. Right now he is teaching our baby math. He feels the need to get an early start on education :)

Pregnant

Well last Friday Jeremy and I were home at the house. I had realized that I still had not started my monthly friend so we decided to take a pregnancy test. We went to to walgreens close to our house and bought one of th emost expensive test they had. (haha like it makes a difference) We went home and I took the test. I started to fold laundry and kept going back and forth to see what the results were. Finally I saw a very faint positive. I went back to folding the clothes without saying anything. I guess I was in shock! Jeremy came in and asked me what did it say. I said, "Its still reading it" haha. He then went into the bathroom and picked up the test and said "what does this line mean?" haha. I staring laughing and said its positive. He looked at me said ,"really, that means we are having a baby, cool". The nest day we were at Jerry and Theresa house for Jennifers party. It was so hard not to say anything to anyone that day. The entire day I had to avoid alcohol and the question why are you not drinking? Well the party went great. The next day at work I went into the lab to take a blood test to confirm the results. The pink line popped up very fast. I called Jeremy and told him it was for sure now. He was so excited.

We wanted to tell our parents at the same time. So Jeremy came up with this idea to take a picture of the positive test and give it to them in an album. We had just come back from Costa Rica so I developed like 20 pictures of so for them to look at. I filled the little album with 21 pictures with the last picture the test. My mom, dad, Jerry, Theresa, Jeremy, and I all sat down on the couch to look at the pictures together. Jerry was going through the pictures outloud for all of us explained each one. The when we finally came to the last picture Jeremy said, "The last picture is my favorite" We flipped the picture and they all stared at it. Mom thought it was a plate and forks and Theresa asked what is that. I finally said this is our positive pregnancy test. We are 5 week PREGNANT!!! No one could belive it. Mom started crying along with Theresa. Even dad got a little teary eyed. Jerry gave Jeremy that old "I knew you could it nudge" haha. Later we went to dinner and talked baby plans.

I knew when my sisters said that they were tired during pregnancy, but I never dream I would be this tired. Last night I got my first taste of "morning sickness" I put these nausea bands on that Theresa gave and they helped me at least fall asleep. I don't know if they actually worked or it was just in my mind. Well we go for our first ultrasound on the 29! We will be able to see baby's heartbeat for the first time! I am so excited and feel so blessed. Please keep Jeremy, baby, and I in your prayers. :)

Costa Rica

Costa Rica was very interesting. The first day we flew into san jose to close on the new house. Just so you know there are no street signs in Costa Rica so it was crazy trying to find our way. We finally found the lawyers office and signed all the papers. The people that Jerry bought the house from are so nice. They gave a some places to see and things to do around Dominical. That night we stayed in San jose. We sat out on the porch fand drank as we watched 20 almost accidents happen between dogs and people, and people with people. haha. That next morning we got really early and headed down to Dominical. It took us about 5 hours to drive there. Yeah 5 HOURS on dirt/ rock roads. While the drive was crazy the views were amazing. Costa Rica is such a beautiful country. My spanish speaking skills wre very useful. But I still don't know how to say Peanut butter in spanish haha. Oh yeah no one told me that Costa Rica has Earthquakes, not a great way to wake up in the middle of the night. The house is really nice but the ocean view was amazing. I think that we are going to spend Christmas down there. (thats there dry season).

While costa rica was fun, I was so ready to get back home and start to clean up the bomb that went off in my house. Everything is in the right room but not the right spot. I guess that it just takes time to unpack a house.

Moving day

Well yesterday we went to Uhal and rented a 26 foot truck for moving day. Jeremy and I were sure that this would be more than enough room for all of our stuff. HA This morning, Jeremy and having to use one of the company's trucks, his truck, and his dad's truck to move the rest of the stuff. It's 615 in the morning and every part of me hurts!!! But it will all be worth tonight when we get to sleep in our new house. We were supposed to close on the old house at 830 this morning but the buyers paperwork is running slow so now we can't close until 1 on this house and a little later on the new house. I just hope that we have enough time to move all of the stuff out of the truck before it gets dark tonight.

Yesterday Jerry (Jeremy's dad) come over to help us move. We are so grateful that he came over. I really don't see how me and Jeremy alone could have done it. At 230 yesterday, we had our walk through on the new house. The construction supervisor took us though the entire house and showed us how to work the AC, the stove, the oven, change the filter, and so on. It just made me want to be in the new house even more.

As for Maddie, she is our boxer Pitt mixed dog, she is going to be an OUTSIDE dog from now on. Right now she sleeps in our room on the floor, but at about 4 in the morning she jumps on the bed. I really do think that she does this because she knows that we are too tired to get her off. It funny though, because during the day she will get on the bed and when we tell her to get off she makes her body really limp so it is impossible to lift her off and moans like we are disrupting a queen during her nap. I love my dog but i also love my new white carpet.

Moving

Right now we are about to move into our new house in Rosenberg TX!!!. We have about 75% of the house packed up. The next few days are going to be very stressful. Starting today. Today I am going to Lubbock for an orientation for my BSN. I won't come home until Friday. Then on Saturday and Sunday I have to go to work. Monday the moving truck comes and we have to finish packing up all the big stuff in the house. Then on Tuesday at 830 Jeremy and I are going to close on this house, come back to the house to finish packing, drive to the north side of houston, and close on the new at 1:00. We have only one day to finish moving all of our stuff in because on Thrusday we are going to Costa Rica with Jerry (Jeremy's dad) and Barbara (Jeremy's grandmother) to close on there house. Wow just looking at all the things that are going to happen in the next 2 weeks make me so stressed out. But it is a good kind of stress. Lots of exciting things are going to be happening to us.
